Manipur Ima welcomes new Government

Imphal, February 05 2026: Manipur Ima has extended a warm welcome to the new State Government led by Yumnam Khemchand as the Chief Minister of Manipur.

In a statement, Manipur Ima expressed hope that the new administration, by bringing together MLAs from both the hills and the valley, will initiate significant development projects across the State.

The organisation highlighted the ongoing conflict between the Kuki-Zo and Meitei communities since May 3, 2023, and voiced the belief that the new Government under Y Khemchand will restore peace and stability to Manipur.

Manipur Ima reiterated its long7standing demand for the implementation of National Register of Citizens to identify and deport illegal immigrants.

Furthermore, Manipur Ima called for swift rehabilitation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and focus on development.
