A massive rally that marched down the streets at Tamenglong district headquarters against trafficking of women and child has called an end to the torture and atrocities to the women and children.

The rally organized by the Women Action for Development (WAD) was carried out amidst threats imposed by some unknown persons to the organizers and participated by a good number of people of the district particularly the women.
The rally participated by around 200 persons kicked off from the Tamenglong Primary Health Centre and concluded at Tamenglong Higher Secondary ground.
Even though some unidentified persons reportedly gave threats not to carry out the rally last night at around 9 pm, with the initiative of the Zeliangrong Students' Union (ZSU) who mobilized the people to participate in the rally by closing down all shops and other business establishments in Tamenglong Bazar.A public meeting was also held at the concluding place of the rally at Tamenglong Higher Secondary School in which general secretary, Zeliangrong Women Union, Nambaun Hai, joint secretary Guijilie, Halen Paomei, lecturer at Tamenglong Higher Secondary School, Saping Liengmei, a representative of Naga Council, SP Tamenglong Paolunkhon and WAD secretary Sobita Mangsatabam delivered speeches.
