Discourse on quality education begins

Stressing the importance of an updated and effective education system, Wangkhei MLA Thangjam Arunkumar has stated that only when education becomes a pillar, will it be possible to bring about a progressive and positive society.
He made the statement as the chief guest at the inaugural function of a three-day international conference on Advancing Responsibility, Responsive and Resilient Quality in Education' organised jointly by Government Hindi Teachers' Training College (GHTTC) and Council of Educational Administration and Management (CEAM), Manipur Chapter, at the hall of GHTTC, DMU campus on Monday.
The function was attended by GHTTC principal Prof Th Asha Sinha as president and Manipur University Hindi Department Prof Yashwant Singh as guest of honour.
A souvenir of the College was also released on the occasion.
Highlighting the importance of Hindi language in bringing about an effective and updated education system, MLA Arunkumar said that the language is spoken by millions of people across the country, serving as a medium of communication for different communities and groups.
It is also helping the people get acquainted with various government benefits, economic activities and education benefits.
As such, GHTTC is an important college for the society, he reasoned.
The MLA also emphasised the need for updated, effective and complete education system, urging for utilising the latest technologies in classrooms to bring about a new direction in education, and calling upon the students to develop deep thinking and analytical skills, to as to cope with unpredictable situations such as the present times.
In his speech, Prof Th Asha reflected on importance of education in bringing about a good life and environment, and basically in all aspect, adding that education is the centre of everything.
