Ukhrul DC inaugurates Union Bank at Phungreitang, Ukhrul

Ukhrul, March 04 2025: The Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul Asish Das today inaugurated the newly opened Union Bank branch at Phungreitang, Ukhrul.

Speaking as the chief guest of the function, the DC Ukhrul stated that people of Ukhrul were living in subsistence mode as the people are not getting privilege to upgrade their business due to lack of banking facilities in the district.

Stating that opening more financial institutions in the district will empower the people economically through a financial inclusion programme, the DC urged the bank staff to render quality services to the customers and embark towards a journey of good governance.

Meanwhile Regional Head, Jorhat Bhaskar Mondal has announced that four licenses were issued for opening a new branch in Manipur.

"He further mentioned that more branches will be opened in the North East state.

The chief guest, Asish later unveiled the plaque and announced the Union Bank function for public services.

The programme was attended by Deptiman Sahani DYRH RO Jorhat, SDO Duna Dou, Addl SP Ringthing Hongchui, Department heads, Religious leaders, Tangkhul social organization leaders and new customers of the Bank.
