Dr Kamal International Manipuri Literature and Arts Festival held in Bhutan

Imphal, March 01 2026:
The Dr Kamal International Manipuri Literature & Arts Festival Bhutan (KIMLAF) was successfully organised yesterday at the RUB Convention Hall, Royal Bhutan University, Thimphu.
The event aimed to foster literary and artistic exchange between Manipuri and Bhutanese communities.
The festival was graced by Thingley Wangchuk; Aniket Govind Mandhavgane, DCM, Embassy of India, Thimphu and Longjam Joychandra Singh, president of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Imphal as presidium members.

A total of 53 Manipuri writers from Manipur, Tripura, Assam, and Meghalaya participated in the festival.
The programme featured several engaging sessions, including an interactive session between Manipuri and Bhutanese writers and an English poem recitation.
Dr Khangembam Khoni delivered a compelling lecture cum presentation on "Manipuri Dance".
A seminar was also conducted where Wahengbam Kumari, Longjam Sangeeta', and others presented papers, followed by a multilingual poetry recitation.
The day concluded with.
"An Evening of Manipuri Dance and Music" showcase.
