AVBD Thoubal celebrates foundation day

Thoubal, November 30 2025: he Association of Voluntary Blood Donors (AVBD), Manipur, Thoubal District Branch, celebrated its 15th foundation day today at the Multipurpose Hall of Khangabok Pt-II.

The event also recognised dedicated blood donors with simple gifts as a gesture of encouragement for th eir service.

The event was attended by Khangabok AC MLA Okram Sutjakumar as chief guest; AVBD Manipur president AK Brojen Singh as functional president; and AVDB Thoubal Branch president Leishangthem Sanatombi Devi as guest of honour.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Surjakumar Singh stressed the importance of voluntary blood donation, noting that individuals who donate blood deserve utmost appreciation and recognition.

He emphasised that a single unit of donated blood can be invaluable in saving a person's life.

The MLA further underscored the need to motivate bood receivers as well, encouraging them to donate blood in the future as a way of giving back to the community and strengthening the voluntary blood donation movement.
