Rashtriya Ekta Diwas: Unity Run and Unity Pledge mark observance across State

Bpr/CCPur/Jiri/Kak/Kpi/Spi/Tml/Tpl/Thb/Ukh, October 31 2024: Commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas/National Unity Day was observed across various districts in the State with the administering of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge and Run for Unity marathons.

BISHNUPUR
On the occasion of National Unity Day held at the conference hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex Bishnupur, Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur Lourembam Bikram highlighted the importance of fostering a sense of nationalism among citizens to drive the nation's development.

He stressed that dedication and collective effort are essential for the country's prosperity.

The DC also noted the relevance of nationalism in today's context.

As part of the observation, the DC administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge to the district's officials, including the ADM, DFO, SDOs, Police officers, DLOs and students.

The event concluded with the DC flagging off the Run for Unity from the Mini Secretariat Complex.

The Unity Run showed enthusiastic participation from police personnel of the district.

CHURACHANDPUR
SP Churachandpur, Shaik Mohd Zaib Zakir today flagged off 'Run for Unity' from DC Complex, Churachandpur organized by District Administration, Churachandpur to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Prior to flagging off the Run, the Churachandpur SP administered the Unity Pledge to the participants from civil administration, police, CRPF, BSF and 1st IRB personnel and led the run.

The run concluded at Public Ground, Churachandpur.

JIRIBAM
District Administration Jiribam, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam Krishna Kumar, IAS, observed National Unity Day at the conference hall of DC Office Jiribam.

The program was attended by S Sitaranjit Singh.

SDC/BO, Jiribam; M Devananda Singh, SDC/ Borobekra; Thomas Thokchom, MPS, Addl SP, Jiribam and other District Level Officers.

As part of the observation, District Administration, Jiribam along with NSS Unit & IQ AC, Jiri College organised a Run for Unity at Jiri College, Kadamtala where students also took the Unity Pledge.

KAKCHING
The District Administration Kakching along with the District Youth Affairs and Sports, Kakching and Khelo India Centre Kakching (Badminton and Wushu), organised "Run for Unity" today.

The run was flagged off from the Indoor Stadium in Kakching Chumnang Leikai by Thokchom Vikramjit Singh (MPS), Superintendent of Police, Kakching.

Around 100 participants from District Youth Affairs and Sports Office, Khelo India Centre Kakching and Kakching Police, took part in the Unity Run.

Binoy Chongtham, Additional SP (Ops) Kakching; Ng Sunita Chanu, District Youth Affairs and Sports Officer, Kakching; Birla Soraisam, OC, Commando Unit, among others, also participated in the Unity Run.

The route took the participants along the DC Road, Hospital Road, Phoushupat Lairembi Road and NH 137 (A), before finishing back at the Indoor Stadium.

SP Th Vikramjit Singh administered a pledge to the participants of the Unity Run to uphold unity as part of the programme.

KANGPOKPI
The 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was commemorated with a Run for Unity in Kangpokpi organized under the aegis of District Administration Kangpokpi.

The run was flagged off by N Shokhongam Baite, MCS, ADC/ADM Kangpokpi at the SP Office and saw enthusiastic participation from District Police, led by SP Kangpokpi, Manoj Prabhakar, along with CRPF personnel, students, and local youths.

It traversed the scenic route along NH-2, reaching Daili before returning to culminate at Brig M Thomas Ground.

The event concluded with a solemn Unity Pledge taken by all participants at the Ground.

SENAPATI
Today the District Administration, Senapati in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Senapati and District Youth Affairs and Sports, Senapati joined the nation in organising a 'Run for Unity'.

As part of the observation, the Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Mamoni Doley, IAS, administered the Unity Pledge to the participants.

Later, the Senapati DC also flagged off the Unity Run.

The Run that began from Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati passed through 'I Love Senapati' point, Astro Turf Ground, Senapati and then ended back at the Mini Secretariat Complex.

The DLOs of different departments and their staff, police personnel, Khelo India Wrestling contingents Senapati, TNK Youth members and students participated in the Unity Run.

TAMENGLONG
Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong, Dr L Angshim Dangshawa, IAS, flagged off the 'Run for Unity' event in Tamenglong district Headquarter at Jadonang Park today.

The run culminated at 5th MR, BN Headquarters, Khongjaron, Tamenglong.

Joshua Kamei of Kakhulong village, Langdimei Daimei of Indai village and Nambilung Gangmei of 5th MR Bn finished the run claiming the first, second and third spots respectively.

DLOs, CSOs, local youths and women's society of various wards of Tamenglong district participated in the event.

TENGNOUPAL
In observance of the day, District Administration, Tengnoupal conducted a pledge taking ceremony and a Run for Unity at District HQ, Tengnoupal.

Arif Sajad, SDC Tengnoupal administered the Unity Pledge to the participants.

Later, "Run for Unity" took place from DC Office with the participation of officials and police personnel.

THOUBAL
District Administration Thoubal organised a Run for Unity on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas in commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India.

The run was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Thoubal Ahanthem Subash, IAS at Thoubal Melaground and culminated at DC Office Complex.

A Unity Pledge was later administered at the Election Counting Hall led by the DC.

Attendees include AC to DC Arvind Hanglem, ADM B Lokeshwor Sharma; Additional SP (Ops) of District Police N Surajkumar; Additional SP (L&O) H Devendra and other officers, District Child Protection Officer Robindro Salam; Divisional Forest Officer Dr L Jeeceelee, DLOs and students of the district.

UKHRUL
On the occasion of National Unity Day, Ukhrul DC Kengoo Zuringla flagged off the "Run for Unity" at Ukhrul Higher Secondary School, Wino Bazar and later converged at the Mini Secretariat Compound, Hamleikhong.

Later, she administered the Unity Pledge to the participants to preserve unity, integrity and security of the nation and also to spread the message to fellow countrymen.

Altogether 200 participants including the DLOs and Staffs of different Departments, Manipur Police Personnel, 6th Manipur Rifle and students of the UHSS School.
