"Pharmacy certificate holders earn little while firms earn big"

Imphal, September 30 2026:
Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) president Dr Montukumar M Patel has said some pharmacy certificate holders get only small payments for their certificates while firms using those certificates earn much more.
He was speaking as chief guest at a one-day Faculty Development Programme titled "Effective Implementation of the B Pharm Syllabus (2026) as per NEP 2020" organised by Khongnangthaba University and conducted by PCI, New Delhi at Imphal Hotel today.
The programme focused on preparing educators to implement the revised curriculum through teaching, practical learning and assessment.
Dr Atom Sunil Singh, Registrar of the University delivered the welcome address, while Dr Nepram Swamalata, PCI member and one of the organisers delivered the keynote address.
Dharmendra Singh, PCI executive member, spoke as guest of honour.
Prof Naorem Joykumar Singh, Vice Chancellor delivered the presidential address and Dr Suresh Kumar, Principal, College of Pharmacy.
Kangleipak Medical and Nursing Institute proposed the vote of thanks.
Technical sessions included revised syllabus by Dr Sharath Chandran C, outcome-based education by Prof Raja Chakraborty and AI in pharmacy courses by Dr Akash Maraihakam.
It may be mentioned that Khongnangthaba University's College of Pharmacy recently secured Grade B and the highest assessment score among pharmacy institutions in Manipur in the assessment by QCI through NABET .
