Silchar, July 31 2025: A condolence function in honour of legendary theatre personality Ratan Thiyam was organised by Bhabikal Theatre at Bhabikal Theatre Hall, Das Colony, Silchar on Wednesday.

The event was attended by several eminent theatre scholars, artists, and admirers who gathered to pay tribute to the late theatre icon.

Among those who addressed the gathering were Prof Debashis Bhattacharya of Assam University, Silchar; Shantanu Paul, founder director of Bhabikal; Theatre critic Bishwajit Sheel who made TV documentary on Ratan Thiyam (Who makes the Flowers Bloom) and Indranil De, founder-director of Race Theatre, Silchar.

The function concluded with the screening of a 26 minute documentary- "Who Makes the Flowers Bloom", produced by PPC Guwahati Doordarshan.
