Imphal, July 30 2025:
In regard to the claims flooding the social media about a spectacular solar eclipse on August 2, 2025, the Khelchanglong Loishang, Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSTB) has clarified that no such celestial event is going to take place on the day.
In a release, LSTB informed the public that there is no restriction/issue on conducting spiritual or ritualistic activities on August 2 as there is no Solar Eclipse happening on the day.
Clearing the air on the subject, the LSTB added, "The confusion appears to stem from an astronomical event set to take place two years from now.
A total solar eclipse is expected on August 2, 2027, which will be visible in parts of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
However, India will only experience a partial solar eclipse".
The LSTB continued that the partial solar eclipse will be visible in Imphal for about 27 minutes, from 4:28 pm to 4:55 pm.
Furthermore, the LSTB urged the public not to fall for misinformation circulating online and to rely on verified scientific and traditional sources before believing or sharing such information.
