RIMS warns against private practice

Imphal, September 29 2025: The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal has warned that immediate action will be taken against any staff found indulging in private practice, including suspension from service, followed by a Minister-level enquiry.

If proven guilty, the penalty may extend to termination of service, said a press release issued by the Media Cell, RIMS.

It said that the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare strictly prohibits private practice of any kind by faculty and staff of RIMS, Imphal.

In line with this, the institute issued clear notifications in July 2024 and August 2025, warning of strict disciplinary action against any violators, it reminded.

RIMS, Imphal authority also reiterated that it neither supports nor encourages private practice in any manner.
