RIMS inaugurates badminton mat court

Imphal, March 29 2025: Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal director Prof G Sunil Kumar inaugurated a Badminton Mat Court at Gymkhana, RIMS, on Friday marking a significant enhancement of its sports infrastructure.

The facility was inaugurated in the presence of medical superintendent Prof N Sanjib, according to a statement issued by RIMS media cell.

Speaking at the event, Prof Sunil highlighted the importance of sports and physical activities in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, particularly for medical professionals.

He expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their contributions and reaffirmed RIMS' commitment to promoting sports and wellness on campus.

He lauded the successful installation of BWF-certified mats, made possible through self-sponsorship and contributions from Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, and RIMS.

The director also announced future developments, including a tennis court, upgrade of the Gymkhana, floodlights for the mini ground, and stadium lights for football and volleyball.

The event was attended by deputy director (Admn), heads of departments, principals of the Dental College and College of Nursing, chief account officer cum financial advisor, faculty members, staff, and representatives from Punjab National Bank and Bank of Baroda, the statement added.
