314 screened at free eye camp in Tentha

Thoubal, June 27 2026: A one-day free eye screening and cataract surgery camp was organised today at Multi Complex, Tentha Khongbal, providing eye care services to people of the area.

The camp was jointly organised by Smart Security Service Tentha, Tentha Khongbal Welfare Association, Tentha Educational & Sports Reformers Association and Surchandra Foundation, Tentha, in collaboration with Shija Eye Care Foundation, Imphal.

During the camp, a team of eye care professionals from Shija Eye Care Foundation conducted eye screening for 314 individuals.

The screening detected 57 cataract cases and 64 cases of Pterygium.

The identified patients will be provided free surgical treatment, along with two days' hospital stay and travel expenses.

Free spectacles were also distributed to 170 individuals who were found to have nearsightedness and far-sightedness defects during the screening.

The organisers appreciated the service rendered by the medical team from Shija Eye Care Foundation and presented saplings to the doctors and staff as a gesture of gratitude.
