MSCW holds awareness programme at Yairipok

A one-day awareness programme on the "Role of Students/Youths in Moulding National Character & POCSO Act" was successfully conducted at the Meeting Hall of Kid's Mold School, Yairipok, Thoubal district on Friday.
The programme was jointly organised by the Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) and the Kids' Mold School, Yairipok.
The awareness programme aimed to instil strong moral values and national character among students and youths, shaping them into responsible citizens.
It also focused on raising awareness of the POCSO Act and educating both educators and students on child protection and legal safeguards, while promoting a safe, child-friendly environment in schools and the community.
The event was attended by Th Tiningpham Monsang, chairperson, MSCW; Sk Sophia, member, MSCW; W Phajatombi Devi, member secretary of MSCW; Samuel Meitei, founder and administrator of Kid's Mold School; and Laikhuram Bijenkumar Khuman, principal of Kid's Mold School, as presidium members.
In the technical session, Dr Dhanabir Laishram, social scientist, spoke on "Pre-Marital Counselling," emphasising emotional maturity, mutual respect and effective communication as foundations of healthy marital relationships and stable families, while Damgam Khaling, member secretary of Child Welfare Committee, Tengnoupal district, elaborated on key provisions of the POCSO Act, reporting mechanisms and the vital role of community vigilance in safeguarding children, as resource persons.
Around 120 students, youth, teachers and local community members attended the programme.
