TK Moshilpha seeks restoration of Machi SDO office, infrastructure upgrade

Tengnoupal, August 01 2026: Social worker and former Tengnoupal Assembly Constituency candidate TK Moshilpha has urged the State Government to restore the Machi Sub-Divisional Office to its original office complex and ensure that staff resume regular functioning from the sub-divisional headquarters.

Moshilpha made the appeal during an inspection visit to assess the condition of government offices and public infrastructure at Machi sub-divisional headquarters.

He was accompanied by a team of media personnel during the visit, which covered the SDO Machi office, ICDS office, Tengnoupal Police Station, banks and road connectivity.

Moshilpha said Machi is an important sub-division under Tengnoupal district with a significant Naga population, but the area has been facing neglect in terms of government services and infrastructure.

He said that following the outbreak of ethnic violence in the State on May 3, 2023, a temporary arrangement was made for the SDO Machi office at Khangshim village near Kakching Lamkhai, with several staff members attending office from there.

The continued functioning of the office from the temporary location has caused considerable inconvenience to people of the sub-division who have to travel to access government services, he said.

Moshilpha therefore appealed to the authorities to facilitate the return of the staff to their original workplace and restore normal functioning of the SDO office at Machi.

During his inspection of the ICDS Machi office, he also noted the absence of staff and urged the concerned authorities to look into the matter.

Moshilpha further called for urgent improvement of infrastructure at Machi PHC and urged the authorities to ensure that the health centre functions 24x7.He also highlighted the dilapidated condition of the PHSC at Khunbi village and sought necessary repairs.

He said the Machi Police Station, which caters to areas extending towards the border, also requires additional infrastructure and facilities to function effectively.

Moshilpha also called upon the PWD to repair the road leading to the Machi sub-divisional headquarters, pointing out that its dilapidated condition and numerous potholes have been causing serious inconvenience to commuters.

He urged the concerned departments to take immediate steps to improve public infrastructure and restore essential government services in Machi in the larger interest of the people.
