Consultative workshop on "Women Empowerment and Social Inclusion" held

Imphal, June 25 2025: A 1-day consultative workshop on "Women Empowerment and Social Inclusion" was held today at the Library Building of Maharaja Bodhchandra College, Imphal.

The workshop was jointly organised by the Centre for the Study of Social Inclusion (CSSI), Manipur University and IQAC, Maharaja Bodhchandra College, Imphal.

Prof H Sudhirkumar Singh, Director, CSSI, MU and L Dwijendra Singh, Vice Principal, Maharaja Bodhchandra College attended the workshop as the chief guest & guest of honour respectively.

The workshop began with a welcome address by Dr N Somorendro Singh, Coordinator, IQAC, Maharaja Bodhchandra College.

Dr Th Bharat Singh, Associate Professor, CSSI, MU, also chaired a technical session, wherein Dr Chinthung Mary Thomas, Head, Management Studies Department, DM College of Commerce, Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) delivered a lecture on the topic, "Gender and Development" .

Dr Dhanamanjuri Lourembam, Head, Department of English (UG), DM College of Arts, DMU on "The Power of Narrative and Voice to Dismantle Gender Stereotypes" while Dr Lakshmi Elangbam, Department of Political Science & Coordinator, IQAC, Imphal College, spoke on 'Patriarchy and Gender Gap in Manipur' .
