PSO Manipur conducts academic and anti-drug awareness campaign

The Pangal Students' Organisation organised an academic and anti-drug awareness campaign at Khelakhong Khongjil High Madrassa, Kakching district as part of its ongoing educational outreach initiative.
The campaign was held under the themes "Eikhoi Mayai Kaba Drug Thadoklasi" and "Khunai Mashak Khangnaba Lairik Ningthina Tamlasi" .
The programme was attended by social worker Alhaj Moulana Md Alauddin, Principal of Khelakhong High Madrassa Md Tajuddin, MSF vice-president Yumnam James, PSO Manipur president Farid Bogimayum, vice-principal Md Riyajuddin, social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram and Assistant Professor of Lilong Haoreibi College Dr Sadiqur Rahaman as presidium members.

PSO Manipur secretary Yumkhaibam Asgar stated that nationalism can only be strengthened when people truly understand their motherland and its history.
He observed that neglecting indigenous history and culture has weakened the sense of identity and patriotism among the younger generation.
He further stressed the importance of educating youths about their own heritage and lineage, while also expressing concern over the growing drug menace among young people.
He said that many youths, who are expected to become the future pillars of society, are being drawn towards drugs, leading to social degradation and weakening of the community.
As part of the campaign, study materials were also distributed to students by the Pangal Students' Organisation, Manipur.
