UNLF extends 'revolutionary greetings' on its 51st anniversary (2)

As part of its ideology, United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has affirmed the belief that no country should occupy or annex other countries; there should be no communal or ethnic tension; aim at building a country where its people are not oppressed and enable the people strive for achieving "human freedom" and work for collective welfare, said the Statement released by its Central Committee.
So long as a country occupies the land of others and a nation oppresses another nation, the UNLF will continue to firmly stand against such attempts through its liberation struggle.
Revolutionary struggle will continue till people are liberated from social, political and economic oppression.
This is part of a non-negotiable revolutionary objective, said the release.
The UNLF also reminded that Manipur which was an independent country for centuries was annexed by India in 1949.After suppressing the citizens, Manipur was made a Part C State of India.
Since then, Manipur has been colonized till today, pointed out UNLF.
As the attempt could not be fully successful, India has also tried keeping the people under a captive market severely affecting the culture and the identity of the nation, alleged UNLF.
Moreover, in an attempt to annihilate the identity of the nation, India has allowed unabated flow of immigrants into Manipur so that the communities in the State can be racially assimilated.
There is also another attempt to take advantage of the economic and topographical contradiction between the hills and the valley and spew the venom of hatred between different communities thereby weakening Manipur's collective strength, said UNLF.
The Government of India is trying to further fuel new animosity between the hill and the valley communities by making some Meetei groups dream of becoming Scheduled Tribe (ST) in the hope that the status of ST would bring welfare measures.
The people are now living in a colonized Manipur under a captive market which have turned the people into impoverished and exploited peasants besides experiencing threat to the identity by generating inter-community tension.
To rescue the situation from further deterioration, there is an imperative to consolidate the revolutionary movement.
What kind of revolutionary movement .
The revolutionary movement launched by UNLF is aimed at resisting India's colonial interests and resolving the situation created thereafter in Manipur besides protecting the interests of all the communities in the State.
This is why the primary task as of now is to fight the colonial interest of India and restore the independence of Manipur.
Thereafter, the UNLF will build a society free from colonial and feudal economic oppression and give the people full freedom to progress, asserted the outfit.
Liberating the people and forming a people's democratic government is part of the National People's Democratic Revolution launched by UNLF.
The primary task here will be the installation of a people's democratic government based on the foundation of equality.
Democracy and Socialism cannot be separated as one is incomplete without the other, said UNLF.
UNLF aims to unify all the different communities that have been living together since time immemorial and build a society in the true spirit of freedom, interdependence and collective living.
Preservation of distinct identity of each communities, equal respect for them all, inter-dependent existence and collective development will be the foundation of the free nation with autonomy at every level, said UNLF.
After attaining such a state, the people of Manipur will be free from India's oppression, impoverishment and ethnic conflict.
This is the task of the national liberation struggle, stated the UNLF.
