Guru Abunghal Dance & Music Centre shines at Rangodaya 2024

Imphal, October 24 2024: The Guru Abunghal Dance & Music Centre, Keishamthong Longjam Leirak bagged many awards at the Rangodaya 2024, held in Agra from October 14 to 17, 2024 .

The Rangodaya 2024 was organised by Sanskar Bharti Natya Kendra, Agra, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and Milton Public School, Agra.

A 11 member team from Guru Abunghal Dance & Music Centre led by Nongmaithem Memcha Devi participated in the event showcasing the rich art & culture of Manipur.

The team consisted of Shamulailatpam Devadatta Sharma, Sijagurumayum Umabati Devi, Drishita Kongbrailatpam, Thoudam Jamuna Chanu, Kangabam Malemnganbi Chanu, Zenita Chandam, Jalish Ahamthem, Oinam Sunita Devi, Lemsana Thokchom and Sujata Oinam.

The centre won the 1st Position in Cultural Parade (Best Religious and Mythological Category) and President's Award for Group Classical Dance Performance.

Drishita Kongbrailatpam won the 3rd Position in Classical Dance Solo Performance (Junior Category) while Kangabam Malemnganbi Chanu bagged 3rd Position in Classical Dance Solo Performance (Senior Category).

Moreover, the Karmayogi Swaroop Chand Jain Award was also presented to Guru Nongmaithem Memcha Devi, Radha Rani Award to Kumari Malemnganbi Chanu and Meera Award to Shamulailatpam Devadatta Sharma.
