Security advisor, DGP review security situation in Moreh

Imphal, November 23 2024:
State security advisor Kuldiep Singh along, with DGP Rajiv Singh, in their first visit to the Indo-Myanmar border, assessed the security situation in the border town Moreh as well as infrastructure along the border, on Saturday.
During the visit, the duo inspected key areas, including the Integrated Check Post and various stretches of the Indo-Myanmar border.
They conducted a detailed examination of the fencing progress by the Border Roads Task Force (BRTF), particularly between Border Pillars 77 and 78, and reviewed unfenced sections between Border Pillars 79 and 80 .
Officials briefed the security advisor and DGP on the progress of the fencing work and the challenges in the area.
Following their inspection of the border, the delegation visited the Integrated Check Post and the Manipur Police Inspection Bungalow in Moreh, where they engaged with personnel from the Commando (CDO) unit.
Discussions revolved around the challenges faced by the security forces, with the security advisor and DGP commending their efforts to maintain law and order in the sensitive border region.
A high-level security meeting was later convened at the Inspection Bungalow, attended by the DC, SP, commandant of 5th Assam Rifles, Addl SP (Ops), and other senior officials.
The meeting focused on strategies to address security concerns and improve coordination among agencies.
The security advisor and DGP expressed their commitment to ensuring the region's safety and announced plans to return in approximately three months for further inspections and reviews.
