Woman killed in road mishap

Imphal, June 23 2025: A 50 year old woman was killed when a moped (Honda Activa) was hit by another Honda Activa at Sunusiphai near a community pond at around 1.45 pm today.

The two Activas were moving in the same direction toward Moirang and the fatal accident occurred when the front Activa suddenly changed direction to cross the road.

The riders of the two Activas identified as Yumnam Ibosana Singh s/o Y Ibomcha Singh of Sunusiphai Awang Leikai and Ajit Moirangthem s/o M Sampha of Moirang Khoiyangbam Leikai as well as pillion rider Hemam Pakpi Devi (50) d/o H Ibohal Singh of Moirangthem Laibujam Leikai, Moirang sustained injuries in the collision.

Even as all three of them were evacuated to District Hospital, Bishnupur, Pakpi was declared dead at the hospital while Ibosana was referred to Raj Medicity.

Ajit was discharged from District Hospital, Bishnupur but Ibosana is currently undergoing treatment in ICU at Raj Medicity.

Meanwhile, the dead body of Pakpi has been deposited at RIMS mortuary.
