Earth Day observed; 'Yes SHE' campaign kicks off

As celebrated across the globe, Earth Day was also observed at Eco Park, Angaan Ching under Kakching district yesterday.
According to a statement, the Earth Day observance programme was graced by Haobam Rosita, IAS, Secretary Health & Project Director MACS as the chief guest; Dilip Kshetriya, President, ADAM Kakching as the functional president and Dr T Brajakumar, Joint Director, Directorate of Environment and Climate Change; Th Joykumar, MD, Thangjam Agro Industries Pvt Ltd and Likla; Uttamkumar Naorem, Editor in Chief, Image TV, Kakching and Kshetrimayum Mangol (Mangal) Singh as the guests of honour.
Meanwhile, Valentina Elangbam, Brand Ambassador CM's Green Manipur Mission was present as a special invitee.
The event was organised under the theme "Save Trees, Save Forest, Save Future" .
During yesterday's observance ceremony, the second oldest man in Kakching, Kshetri Mangol Singh kicked off ADAM Kakching's "Yes SHE" (Yes Sundays and Holidays for Environment) five-month campaign which aims to promote a lifestyle of working for the environment for two hours every week.
Aside from this, Liberty Theatre, Kakching's play "Angaan Ching gi Masaikolda" directed by Uttamkumar Naorem and written by Kshetri Sanajaoba was also showcased.
Notably, Shougaijam Lukhoi, USA handed over an amount of Rs 20,000 through Surjit Kshetrimayum, secretary ADAM to Uttamkumar Naorem, Director/Secretary, Liberty Theatre to aid them in bringing the play to the stage.
Around 200 people attended the function.
The event was cosponsored by Directorate of Environment and Climate Change and Manipur Pollution Control Board with M/s Ksh Beikul Singh, CRED, Imphal, Imphal College, Kakching Motors, Lamkhai Brick Field, Kakching, Kangleipak Voluntary Organisation for Rural Development as collaborators.
