Rally staged against gruesome killing of six civilians

Thoubal, November 22 2024: A large number of people of Thoubal district took out a rally yesterday against the brutal murder of women and children by Kuki terrorists at Jiribam.

The rally jointly organised by Khunai Kanba Apunba Meira Paibi Lup (KHUKAMPAL), All Thoubal District United Clubs Organisation (ATDUCO), Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) Thoubal, Apunba Nupi Khunai Lamjing Meira Lup, Thoubal and All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA), Thoubal unit was flagged off from Waikhom Mani Girls' College and passed through Thoubal Keithel and Yairipok Lamkhai.

Various slogans like "Repeal AFSPA from Manipur", "Don't disintegrate Manipur", "We condemn India Government's ploy of inciting division among communities in Manipur".

Speaking at the rally, AK Chitreshori expressed her dismay over the Central Government's inability to tackle the Kuki militants even when six civilians including women and children were brutally murdered by the Kuki militants.

She further continued that the rally was organized to condemn the recent decision of the Central Government to impose AFSPA in the areas of six police stations.

People over the past decades have consistently called for the revocation of AFSPA from Manipur.
