Imphal, April 22 2026: Six bunkers were destroyed in a joint special operation carried out by security forces in Kangpokpi district today.

The joint team which launched the operation included personnel of the police, 105 Bn BSF and 4 Mahar Regiment.

The joint team carried out area domination and search operations along the roadsides and hill ranges between Tingpibung village and Leplen village, areas under Saikul police station.

During the operation, police sources said, the team detected and destroyed six bunkers- three at Lungter Hill, two at Tingpibung village and one at Leplen village.

The security forces also recovered 12 empty cases of 7.62 mm ammunition from the bunkers during the operation.
