College Week commences

Imphal, February 22 2025: The College Week Celebration of Rajkumari Sanatombi Devi College of Education kicked off today at the College auditorium located at Asha Jina Complex.

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the College flag and march past presentation by the four houses.

Notable dignitaries present at the event include RK Tutusana, IPS, Retd Inspector General of Police, Manipur; Dr Th Premabati Devi, Principal, RK Sanatombi Devi College of Education; Dr Kh Ajit Singh, Advisor, RK Sanatombi Devi College of Education and T Asha Devi, vice chairperson, RK Sanatombi Devi College of Education as the chief guest, guests of honour and functional president.

Speaking in this connection, Yumnam Surjit Singh, BEd in-charge, RK Sanatombi Devi College of Education highlighted the importance of co-curricular activities for the development of student teachers.

The College Week Celebration was organised following the introduction of multi-disciplinary education as per the provisions in NEP 2020.BEd and MEd student teachers will participate in a variety of cultural, literary and sports activities during the celebration, he added.

As these future teachers will have to partly employ co-curricular activities to deal with the emotional, physical, spiritual and overall development of the students, the College Week Celebration has been organised as part of their training, he maintained.
