Meetei Marup observes 81st Foundation Day

Imphal, April 21 2026 : Meetei Marup marked its 81st Foundation Day on Monday with a solemn function at its head office in Wangkhei Thambalkhong.

The event was attended by Sarangthem Kunjadas, retired Assistant Inspector of Schools, and Meetei Marup's senior members Salam Sana Meetei and Sarangthem Gopandas.

At the event, speakers recalled the dedication of departed members who worked to promote and preserve Meetei culture and heritage.

Delivering the keynote address, secretary general Angomcha Seram Gojendro stressed the need to carry forward their legacy.

The lighting of the ceremonial lamp and hoisting of the Meetei Marup flag were the main highlights of the programme.
