Cycle rally in IE calls for drug-free society

Imphal, June 20 2026: Imphal East Deputy Commissioner Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam today flagged offa cycle rally from the DC Office as part of Nasha Mukt Bharat Saptah under the theme "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan - Vikshit Bharat ka Pphechan" .

The rally was jointly organised by the District Administration Imphal East, District Social Welfare Office Imphal East, and the Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch.

Social Welfare Director Sheikh Abdul Hakim, District Social Welfare Officer W Thamapati, and officials of District Social Welfare Imphal East also took part.

Dr Nivedita said the campaign seeks a drug-free society for a strong Nation, State, and district.

"Administration and CSOs alone cannot achieve this.

Active public participation, especially from families, is crucial", she added.

She also administered a pledge with the public to stay away from drugs.

The rally proceeded through Konung Mamang, Khsetrigao, and Yaiskul before concluding at YAC Ground.
