District level advocacy cum training programme held

A district level advocacy cum training programme on Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana was held today at K Koshang Memorial Hall in Khangshim village in Tengnoupal district.
The programme was organised by the Deputy Conservator of Forest - Tengnoupal Forest Division under the aegis of Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India -Ministry of Tribal Affairs Government of India and Forest Department Manipur.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Moreh Md Asghar Arzad; Deputy Conservator of Forest Tengnoupal Forest Division Mahamuda Begum; Meira Foods Founder cum Managing Director Hanjabam Shubra Devi and Khangshim Village Chief Angshem Tontang graced as the presidium members of the programme.
Range Forest Officer Tengnoupal Athokpam Ranabir; RO Machi SR Marson Anal; Sub Deputy Collector Moreh Md Sheikh Tarif also attended the programme.
Speaking about the objectives of the programme, DCF Tengnoupal Mahamuda Begum is to raise awareness among the masses about processing foods from the forest produce such as fruits and other edible items for sale so as to generate a regular source of income for economic enhancement.
She assured to extend help to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) for required tools and equipment for food processing from the forest produce.
During the programme, a team of Meira Foods led by Hanjabam Shubra Devi imparted training to the members of SHGs of Tengnoupal district on how to preserve foods, candy making, pickle making etc.
