Forest Department recovers six bird traps in anti-poaching drive

Thoubal, December 19 2025:
Continuing its sustained drive to curb wildlife poaching, a joint team of the Kakching Forest Range and Pallel Beat Office, under the supervision of Thoubal Divisional Forest Officer, Dr Leishangthem Jeeceelee, conducted an extensive anti-poaching operationin the Lousipat area, during which 6 bird traps were recovered.
The drive, led by Kakching Range Officer Huidrom Sundar was carried out on Thursday evening, following reports of frequent poaching activities in the area, and were able to seize 6 bird traps believed to have been set for catching birds.
Speaking in this connection, Range Officer Huidrom Sundar said that such drives are being carried out regularly at various locations to ensure the safety and protection of wildlife.
He appealed to the public to cooperate in wildlife protection efforts and to help preserve the State's biodiversity.
