First Aid Training conducted

A 1-Day First Aid Training Programme was jointly organised today by the Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch, and the Department of Home Science, Dhanamanjuri University, at the Central Hall of GP Women's College.
IRCS Manipur general secretary Athokpam Nabachandra attended as chief guest, DMU Home Science Head Dr Thokchom Diana presided, and GP Women's College Principal Prof L Rajen was guest of honour.
DMU Students' Union cultural secretary Angom Daisy Chanu said learning first aid is essential for everyone, especially amid the State's current unrest, as timely intervention can save lives during accidents or emergencies.
She added that the training is part of an initiative to extend first aid awareness to all PG colleges under DMU, starting with GP Women's College.
Resource persons from the IRCS demonstrated key first aid techniques to the students, covering immediate response, wound management, and emergency care.
Organisers said such programmes aim to build a community of trained responders to protect lives during critical situations.
