Assam Rifles averts two major fire incidents in Chandel

Assam Rifles once again proved its steadfast commitment to the safety and welfare of the people of Manipur by swiftly responding to two separate fire emergencies in Chandel District within a span of ten days.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), on April 17, fire broke out at a shop in Gamphazol Village, which had inflammable liquids.
Upon noticing thick smoke and fast-spreading flames, troops from the nearby Assam Rifles troops immediately mobilised with firefighting equipment and water ferrying vehicles.
Their timely and prompt action averted a major disaster.
The Assam Rifles medical team also administered first aid to two civilians who sustained minor injuries, said the IGAR (S).
Meanwhile on April 6, Assam Rifles had similarly averted a major forest fire near Yangoubung Village, Chandel District.
The fire escalated due to strong winds and threatened the nearby populated areas.
Alerted by the villagers, Assam Rifles deployed two teams with firefighting equipment, effectively containing the blaze and preventing damage to nearby homes, said a statement of IGAR (S) .
These back-to-back operations stand testament to the professionalism, preparedness, and people-first ethos of the Assam Rifles.
