Imphal, July 17 2026:
Keirao AC MLA Lourembam Rameshwar has stressed that if the people of Manipur continue to preserve the faith and traditions handed down by ancestors, the State can emerge as a strong and prosperous land.
He was speaking at a prayer ceremony for Ibudhou Pakhangba held at Kongba Meirongbi, Imphal East, organised by Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board.
The site is where the Kongba River meets the Imphal River, considered sacred since ancient times.
The ceremony was led by the Board's Maibarel Meisnam Iboba Luwang, with heads of 10 Loishang and devotees in attendance.
Lourembam Rameshwar, also vice president no 1 of the Board, said Manipur was once renowned for its culture and valour because ancestors preserved their faith and way of life.
He urged people to protect those traditions.
Board Member Secretary Sandham Gandharaj said such prayers can bring peace and well-being, and appealed to the public to support them.
