Assam Rifles conducts joint flood relief training

Assam Rifles conducted a joint flood relief training exercise at Khongjom War Memorial Lake, Thoubal District on Monday.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (S), the training was aimed to enhance inter-agency coordination and equip personnel and civilians with practical skills and knowledge for effective response during flood emergencies.
The exercise witnessed active participation from Assam Rifles, NDRF, RAF, National Cadet Corps (NCC) and local civilians.
The drill included hands-on modules such as Boat Rescue Operations, where the NDRF team demonstrated techniques for safely evacuating people from flood-affected areas.
Participants were introduced to various safety equipment, including proper procedures for donning life jackets before entering water.
The Life-Saving Drill segment focused on essential skills like CPR, first aid, and emergency response methods for rescuing drowning individuals.
Recognising the crucial role of civilians during disaster situations, the training also aimed at empowering the local community to act as first responders.
The joint participation of security forces, NCC cadets, and civilians made the exercise a true example of collective preparedness and resilience.
This collaborative initiative reflects the proactive approach of Assam Rifles' in strengthening disaster response capabilities and fostering a culture of safety and preparedness across Manipur, said the IGAR (S) .
