Imphal, April 17 2025: The "Pre-membership training programme 2025-26" jointly organised by the Manipur State Cooperative Union Lamphelpat and Registrar of Cooperative Societies kicked off at the training hall of the Union today.

The event was graced by Thounaojam Chaoba, former Union Minister as the chief guest; Dr Moirangthem Nara, former Art & Culture Minister as the functional president and Somorjit Salam, IAS, Special Secretary (Cooperation); Longjam Tompishak, president, MSCU; Waikhom Ibohal, Registrar of Cooperative Societies; Khundongbam Maniton, vice president, MSCU (Valley) and Neilangam Gangmei, vice president, MSCU (Hills) as the guests of honour.

According to Longjam Tompishak, the pre-membership training programme will also be conducted across different District Cooperative Offices in the State.

He added that the programme was organised as many members register in cooperative societies without any information and end up dealing with various challenges due to lack of knowledge.
