The Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association has urged the Government to meet its demands before December 6.December 6 is the raising day of the association.
The Government should convert the home guard employees' demands into action before the raising day, said the association's president, Y Mangi today.
Speaking to reporters at the association's office at Luwangsangbam during the release of a calendar, Mangi said the association has submitted representations and repeatedly urged the Government to meet 11 demands.
The demands include a higher Dearness Allowance (DA), ration money, creation of a separate Commandant General for the Home Guard, pension benefits, regular pay and extension of service period among other measures for welfare of the employees.
While the association had raised 11 demands in total, the Government had acted on only one of them, Mangi said.
If the demands are not met by December 6, the home guard employees may launch agitation, he added.
