Awareness programme on drug abuse prevention held

Imphal, October 16 2025: A one-day awareness programme and a symposium on the theme "Drug Abuse Prevention" was held on Thursday at Sagang Higher Secondary School, Churachandpur district.

The event was organised by the State Level Coordinating Committee (SLCA) and the United Voluntary Youth Council (UVYC), Langthabal, under the sponsorship of the National Institute of Social Defense (NISD), New Delhi.

The programme was conducted as part of the National Campaign of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

Altogether, 83 students from Classes Vin to XII participated in the symposium, with Kh Bijeta bagging the first position, while Md Arif and N Mangaal Kom winning the second and third position respectively.

Ph Tampakleima Devi, principal of Sagang Hr Secondary School, distributed prizes and certificates to the winners.

Kangjam Maharabi Singh, secretary general of UVYC, along with Solar Chung Kom and Ph Tampakleima Devi, served as judges for the symposium.
