Assam Rifles marks World Youth Skills Day with drawing competition in Chandel

Assam Rifles celebrated World Youth Skills Day by organising a drawing competition at Don Bosco School, Lamphou Pasna in Chandel district on July 15, as part of its youth empowerment and community outreach initiatives.
According to a statement issued by IGAR (South), the programme was organised in line with this year's United Nations theme, "Skills for a Shared Future," which emphasises equipping young people with technical and life skills for employment, entrepreneurship and building resilient communities.
The event began with an inspiring interaction highlighting the importance of creativity, discipline and innovation in shaping responsible citizens and future leaders.
It was followed by a welcome ceremony and colourful cultural performances by the students.
Altogether, 120 students participated in the drawing competition, showcasing their artistic talent on the themes "Patriotism", "Real Heroes of India" and "Unity Beyond Borders".
The participants displayed creativity and originality while expressing messages of national pride, unity and social harmony through their artwork.
During the programme, Assam Rifles personnel encouraged the students to pursue creative excellence, critical thinking and leadership qualities while contributing positively to nation-building.
Winners of the competition were felicitated, while all participants were appreciated for their enthusiastic involvement.
The event was attended by 120 students, four faculty members and Assam Rifles personnel, and concluded with the objective of strengthening civil-military relations while inspiring the younger generation to become responsible and skilled citizens.
