Govt won't tolerate anti-social elements: CM
Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, June 16 2022: The state government is firm on dealing effectively and with iron hand against those scheming to destroy the future generation of the society, stated chief minister N Biren Singh and appealed to BJP workers to shoulder their responsibility in making a new Manipur.

Addressing BJP leaders and workers on the concluding day of the two-day BJP Manipur Pradesh executive meet at Kangpokpi town on Thursday, N Biren said that Manipur is becoming a drug consuming society as almost 70 percent of the population of the state use one psychotropic substance or the other and there is one drug consumer in almost every household.

Government will not remain silent when some individuals are deliberately trying to destroy the society and they will be dealt with iron hand, he said, adding that government has to act deliberately against those deliberately destroying the future generation.

Busting of a drug factory at Moijing on Wednesday was a deliberate act of the government against such individuals and BJP has to fight against them as the party is committed to saving lives of the people, Biren added.

Since the coming of the BJP government, people of Manipur have full trust on the party and accordingly the party managed to secure 32 seats in the last state assembly election.

Just as Prime Minis ter Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah brought changes in the country in the past eight years, rebuilding of Manipur would be completed in the next five years, Biren said, adding that planning for the poor people and future generation will bring real development in the state.

Some people might have felt bad about eviction drive at Waithou hill but they must also acknowledge the missing of Lilong hill in front of their eyes owing to the wrong concept of politicians and bureaucrats, he said, adding that a 69-year old retired government employee is currently in jail for forging land documents.

He also assured of developing Waithou hill as one of the scenic places of the state.

While welcoming Central government's decision to launch Agnipath scheme, N Biren maintained that army training is one of the most imitable and disciplined trainings and youth who joined the scheme would be given priority in joining police, IRB and other forces after completion of their tenure in the service.

While appealing to BJP workers to shoulder their responsibility in bridging the gap between hills and valley apart from bringing inclusive development, N Biren said that the party has appointed one each Karyakata for all the 68 subdivisions of the state just as state cabinet appointed one each officer for 68 subdivisions to bring equal development.

He also said that all the ministers will now inter act with party workers every week on Saturday.

He then appealed to party workers to shoulder their responsibility in rebuilding Manipur in the line with what forefathers of the land had aspired.

While highlighting the essence of BJP's ideology, N Biren said that the nation building is the foremost priority of BJP and no other political party of the country work in this line.

He also said that BJP workers should discuss the nation building process being initiated by PM Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah while maintaining that Manipur cannot be saved if it fails to follow the genuine philosophy being adopted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also expressed regret that some people are trying to rebuild Manipur based on the situation in the 1960-70s.The concluding session of the two-day long executive meet was also attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi, ministers, BJP MLAs and other leaders of the party.

In her speech at the concluding session, A Sharda said that BJP workers have joined Green Manipur movement being initiated by state government to save environment.

She also highlighted various welfare schemes being implemented by BJP government and maintained that party workers have taken steps to ensure that no deserving beneficiary is left behind from availing benefits of government schemes.
