Imphal, May 16 2009: The Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) has today offered revolutionary salute to six of its departed cadres who lost their lives in an encounter with the combined force of the Army and the police commando yesterday morning at Koutruk Hills.

Admitting that the six persons as its militia unit cadres, a statement issued by the KYKL Deputy Secretary of Publicity and Research, Apabi Mangang stated that it was a great loss for the outfit in its enduring movement, while also sharing the grief and pain endured by the bereaved families.

Though it may be a major success for the security forces, the statement stated that the ill-fated incident occurred when the KYKL cadres were returning after rescuing Roshan, the son of CAU's Dean Dr N Iboton, who had been kidnapped by agents of the security forces on May 11 last.

After being tip off about some security forces' agents holding the kidnapped youth captive somewhere at Senjam-Chirang, Khurkhul and Koutruk area, a militia unit of the KYKL launched a rescue operation in the area keeping close watch to all roads, the statement recounts.

Then the militia unit found two pistols from the possession of three youths riding on a Kinetic Activa who were frisked by the militia unit on suspicion.

During the course of interrogation to the youths, two of them � Soraijam Jiten (27) son of (L) S Bidhu of Sagoltongba Awang Leikai and Konjengbam Manao (22) son of K Rajendro of Lamdeng Mayai Leikai � were established to be the agents of the security forces while the other was Roshan, who they kept in captivity, the statement asserts.

The two agents had also been proved during the course of the interrogation that they were the stooges of Security forces, wearing the mask of revolutionary and minting money by unfair means, it stated.

Apabi Mangang further stated that the outfit's militia unit got information through its intelligence that the security forces with their collaborator, police commando, are going to launch an attack against them.

And since the two proven agents of the security could not be held for a long time, the outfit had awarded capital punishment to the two agents at Khurkhul Uyung Makhong early in the morning as per a standing order.

The encounter, wherein the KYKL suffered a major blow, took place after all these incidents, Apabi Mangang stated.

It stated that six of its fighters under its militia unit � Leishangthem Simon (19) son of L Budha of Koutruk Ching Leikai, Angom Ngongo alias Priojit son of A Subash of Phayeng Awang Leikai, Keisam Sanatomba alias Rabi alias Roshan (31) son of (L) K Tomba of Lamshang Heibongpokpi, Mayengbam Chaothoi (23) son of M Narhari of Kakching Lamjao Part-II, Tejpur Awang Leikai, Angom Guni (28) son of Angom Langbanjao and Angom Amuthi (19) son of Priyokumar of Phayeng Chingkhunou � had lost their lives.

Four AK Rifles, two 9mm pistols, and, .38 pistol and 9mm pistol recovered from the two agents, were lost to the security forces.

The KYKL evidently proves the crimes the security forces committed in kidnapping Roshan for huge ransom to dissuade the spirit of liberation movement and the role they have played in the affair, Apabi Mangang pointed out.

It also regrets for losing the hard evidences culled from Jiten and Manao about the security forces' involvement to the enemy.

The fact that all incidents of killings, arrests, crimes etc in the name of revolution are unleashed by the security forces has been proved when the army and the police commando tried to rescue the captors of Roshan without any attempt to save Roshan when he was kept captive in a secluded place, the KYKL statement concluded.
