Awareness programme on gender equality and social issues held at Terakhongshangbi

Moirang, December 15 2025: As part of Nayi Chetna 4.0 campaign for Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment, a one-day awareness programme on the theme "Domestic Violence, Child Marriage, and Unpaid Work" was held today at Ibudhou Thangjing Harao Shanglen, Terakhongshangbi.

The programme was organised by the District Programme Officer (ICDS), Bishnupur, One Stop Centre Bishnupur, in collaboration with Anoubal Mangal VLF; under the aegis of Manipur State Livelihood Mission, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Govt of Manipur.

It was attended by Kumbi College Retired Principal Leichombam Gopal; Anoubal Mangal VLF president Angom Tamphasana; Meira Paibi president Ningthoujam Renubala; MSRLM Moirang CD Block, Cluster Coordinator Oinam Rajbidya; District Coordinator Social Inclusion Social Development (SISD) Bishnupur, Th Somia; along with representatives from various club and members.

Centre Administrator of One Stop Centre Bishnupur, L Chanu Yaiphaib and counsellor of Pounga Newme served as resoure persons and delivered talks focusing on gender equality, prevention of domestic violence, child marriage, and the recognition of unpaid work, while also highlighting available support mechanisms and legal provisions.
