UGC Expert Committee completes inspection of Khongnangthaba University

Imphal, September 15 2026:
A two-day virtual inspection of Khongnangthaba University, Manipur by an Expert Committee appointed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) concluded today.
The inspection was held on September 14 and 15 in pursuance of UGC (Establishment of and Maintenance of Standards in Private Universities) Regulations, 2003 to assess fulfilment of prescribed norms relating to academic programmes, faculty, infrastructure, financial viability and other requirements.
On September 14, proceedings began with an internal meeting of the Expert Committee and a presentation by Prof Naorem Joykumar, VC, KHU .
The committee undertook a virtual tour of academic and administrative infrastructure, laboratories, programmespecific facilities, examination and ICT facilities, fire-safety arrangements and grounds.
It also examined documents relating to legal and academic framework, faculty, statutory approvals, admission and promotion policies, research policy and financial planning.
On September 15, the committee interacted with academic, administrative and technical staff and students, followed by verification of records.
Proceedings concluded with preparation of the report.
The university administration, faculty, staff, scholars and students extended full cooperation and presented records and information sought by the committee.
Khongnangthaba University expressed appreciation to the UGC, the Expert Committee and the UGC Coordinating Officer for conducting the inspection systematically.
