RCC bridge inaugurated at Khurkhul

Imphal, May 14 2026: Chief Minister Y Khemchand's focus on development will bring more changes to roads in Sekmai constituency, and the newly built RCC bridge over Luwanglei River at Khurkhul Lamkhai was completed in just 70 days, Sekmai AC MLA Heikham Dingo Singh said on Thursday.

Speaking after inaugurating the bridge, the MLA said poor road connectivity is not limited to Sekmai but is an issue across Manipur.

"Sekmai is located in a foothill area with wide roads, so developing all roads at once is difficult But important roads are being taken up in consultation with the Chief Minister", he said, adding that residents will soon see visible improvements in key roads of the constituency.

The 22-feet wide RCC bridge will connect Lamsang-Uripok and the National Sports University area.

The MLA said blacktopping of the approach road will be done by machine once the weather improves.

Khurkhul Nupi Lup, the Executive Engineer and officials of PWD, the contractor, and members of the Khurkhul GP Administrative Committee attended the inaugural function.
