Khangabok Coin Hoard Exhibition to be held on May 17

A special exhibition of the historic Khangabok (Keipha Loukol) Coin Hoard of 1984 will be organised on Sunday, May 17 at Bh Manithoi's Mandop, Khangabok Makha Leikai.
The exhibition is being held in connection with the release of the second volume (2026 edition) of the annual multilingual journal Khongchat: The Khangabok Diary, published by the Book Club, Khangabok.
According to a release issued by the Book Club Khangabok, the exhibition is expected to be a significant cultural and historical event as the Khangabok (Keipha Loukol) Coin Hoard of 1984 remains one of the most important archaeological discoveries associated with the region.
Recognised as the biggest coin hoard discovered in Manpur, it occupies a unique place in the historical and cultural heritage of the State.
Mutua Bahadur, Director of Mutua Museum and custodian of the Khangabok (Keipha Loukol) Coin Hoard of 1984, will attend the programme as the chief guest.
The function will be presided over by Prof Khundrakpam Jugindro Singh, Principal of YK College, Wangjing.
The guests of honour will include Khundrakpam Menjor Mangang, founder of MMRC & Unity Park; Khundrakpam Swarnalata Devi, former Adhyaksha of Thoubal Zilla Parishad; and Moirangthem Madhusudan Singh, secretary of District Olympic Association, Thoubal and vice-president of the Kho-Kho Federation of India.
The organisers have invited historians, researchers, writers, students, cultural activists, media persons and members of the public to witness the rare exhibition and participate in the literary and cultural gathering.
