Imphal, February 13 2026:
The Indigenous Peoples Organisation Manipur (IPOM) today conducted a free health camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) residing at the relief camp located in the Recent Higher Secondary School, Sagoltongba, ImphalWest district.
The initiative is part of IPOM's ongoing effort to provide medical assistance to various relief camps across Manipur.
The camp, organised in collaboration with Ayush Hospital, Lamphelpat, aimed to address the healthcare needs of IDPs who have been living in challenging conditions for approximately three years since the ethnic conflict erupted on May 3, 2023.Athokpam Lanthaba Luwang, an advisor for IPOM, highlighted the immense difficulties faced by the IDPs, including financial hardships, an inability to provide education for their children, and a lack of funds for hospital visits or purchasing medicine when they fall ill.
Doctors at the free health camp provided comprehensive health checkups, treatment for various ailments, and free medication.
They also offered counseling to help IDPs manage mental health issues, which are reportedly prevalent among the displaced population.
Lanthaba Luwang affirmed that IPOM is committed to continuing the organisation of such free health camps in other relief centers throughout Manipur to ensure the wellbeing of the IDP community.
