LMG extends aid to families devastated by Tronglaobi tragedies

Imphal, April 12 2026: In a gesture of solidarity amid escalating violence, the Like Minded Group (LMG), Manipur, extended essential food supplies to four grieving families reeling from the devastating Tronglaobi incidents.

The relief came after a brutal bomb attack on April 7 night in Tronglaobi, which killed two sleeping toddlers and critically injured their mother.

The tragedy sparked outrage, culminating in a protest march toward a nearby CRPF camp.

Tragically, security forces allegedly opened fire on the demonstrators, killing three activists and injuring several others.

LMG's outreach team, led by secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam, treasurer Kunjeshwor Mangsatabam, and assistant secretary Surendra Ningomba, spent the afternoon consoling the families.

They observed a minute of silence, offering prayers for the five souls lost - the two children and three protesters.

Ojit Sorokhaibam voiced profound grief, saying, "The bomb attack on innocent children and their motherkilling the toddlers and severely injuring the mother-followed by the killing of three protesters near the CRPF camp, is deeply unfortunate and heartbreaking" .

"We are not just providing rations; we are standing with these families in their darkest hour.

The Government must act decisively to bring the culprits to justice and restore peace", he added.

The LMG has urged authorities to launch an impartial investigation, deploy better security measures, and engage community leaders to prevent further escalation.
