District Vendor Development Programme concludes in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, December 11 2025: The two-day District-Level Vendor Development Programme (VDP) skill enhancement cum exhibition of MSME products concluded on Wednesday at DRDA Training Hall, DC Office Complex, Hamleikhong, Ukhrul.

The event was inaugurated by the president of Tangkhul Leisak Long, Ramyo Raingam, who lit the ceremonial candle as the chief guest.

General Manager of DIC Ukhrul & Kamjong, and chairman of DLC-RAMP, Themreiyo T Awungshi in his keynote address highlighted the objective of enabling local vendors to access larger markets and upscale their business ventures.

He stated that the VDP-cum-exhibition provided a platform for MSME units to showcase products and engage directly with potential buyers including PSUs, CPSUs, procurement agencies, private buyers, distributors and wholesalers.

Resource person Horeisung Khamrang, DDM, MSRLM-Ukhrul brief participants on PSU/vendor registration procedures, stressing the importance of transparency, procurement streamlining and trust-building.

He highlighted how vendor registration facilitates participation in government tenders and ensures a secure and efficient supply chain.

Branch Manager, PNB Ukhrul, Woreishang CL, spoke on finance, credit and Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDs) for individuals seeking to set up new business units.

Dr Solei Luiram of KVK Ukhrul shared insights on marketing and exporting organic products, noting their rising global demand and the potential for contemporary business growth.

A highlight of the programme was a success story shared by Rinchuila Ragui, an MSME beneficiary, who narrated her journey from wage earner to a lakhpat didi and successful entrepreneur, inspiring aspiring business owners.

A total of 12 stalls were set up during the event, displaying a variety of MSME products over the two days.

The programme was organised by the Trade, Commerce & Industries, Govt of Manipur, under the Raising and Acceleration of MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme for Ukhrul district.
