BJP leaders from Manipur join Congress Party in Delhi

In a significant political development, three senior leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Manipur formally joined the Indian National Congress (INC) today at the AICC Headquarters in New Delhi.
The three leaders are Y Surchandra Singh, ex-MLA of 37-Kakching Assembly Constituency; L Radhakishore Singh, ex-MLA of 25-Oinam Assembly Constituency; and Uttamkumar Ningthoujam of 28-Thanga Assembly Constituency.
"Their decision to leave the BJP comes in the backdrop of widespread unhappiness over the BJP's mishandling of Manipur's crisis and reflects a growing conviction that only the Congress Party can provide peace, stability, and inclusive governance in the State", said a release issued by Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka, Member of Parliament and AICC In-charge of Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
The leaders were welcomed into the party fold in the presence of Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka and K Meghachandra Singh, MLA & president, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, along with senior leaders Mcseal Keisham and Jotin Waikhom, who extended their greetings and support to the leaders.
Ulaka stated that their entry would further strengthen the Congress Party in Manipur and across the Northeast, bringing valuable political and professional experience to the organisation.
