Sanjoy Ahanthem receives support from 400 Kumbi farmers

Moirang, August 08 2026: A reception programme was organised at Wangoo Naodakhong Community Hall on Saturday to honour 400 like-minded members of the Kumbi Kendra Progressive Farmers' Association for extending their support to social activist Sanjoy Ahanthem, who is set to contest the 13th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.

Organised by the Kumbi Kendra Progressive Farmers' Association, the programme was attended by Sanjoy Ahanthem, Association president Sanasam Dinesh, campaign committee president Telem Romon and other social workers and community leaders.

The 400 members were accorded a warm welcome during the programme for expressing their support to Sanjoy Ahanthem.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjoy said the farmers' decision to support him reflected their faith in his vision and had given renewed hope to his political journey.

He said the forthcoming Assembly election would be a challenging one and would play an important role in determining the future of the people of Manipur.

Referring to issues including illegal immigration, restrictions on free movement and other unresolved problems facing the State, Sanjoy said the people would have to take a firm and informed decision in the upcoming election.

He expressed hope that the right decision by the people would contribute towards bringing lasting peace and development in Manipur.
