AR empowers youth through skill development programme

Imphal, July 08 2026: Assam Rifles marked a significant step towards regional socio-economic growth with the successful conclusion of its Skill Development Programme 6.0 during a felicitation ceremony held today in Imphal East district.

Organised as part of its ongoing civic action initiatives in the Imphal valley in collaboration with We Care Skill Solutions, the 12-week vocational training focused on hospitality and retail sectors to enhance employability of local youth.

As per a release issued by HQ IGAR(South), a total of 44 participants, including 19 boys and 25 girls, completed the course.

They were awarded National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) certificates and formal employment offer letters dining the ceremony.

All the trained candidates have secured immediate placements at reputed establishments across the country, including Altruist Hotel in Bengaluru, Reliance Hospital in Mumbai, Aayush Resort in Pune, Zone by Park in Chennai and Sunday Hotel in Gurugram.

Senior officials and troops present at the event lauded the dedication of the candidates and urged them to serve as ambassadors of Manipur's rich culture and heritage as they leave for their new jobs.

This marked the sixth successful edition of the programme conducted by Assam Rifles since June 2024 .

Through the joint initiative, nearly 400 youths from the region have so far secured gainful employment and a path to sustainable livelihood.
