TKS urges educational institutions to declare holiday on Aug 14

Ukhrul, August 07 2025: The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) has appealed to all educational institutions under its jurisdiction to declare a holiday on August 14, 2025, in honour of the historic declaration of Naga Independence Day.

According to a public notification issued by TKS General Secretary PS Ningthingmaya, the decision is in line with the resolution adopted during the first Legislative Assembly of ANSAM 2024-2026 and a directive issued by the office of the All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) .

"All the educational institutions within the jurisdiction of Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong shall remain closed on August 14, for celebrating the 79 th Naga Independence Day," the statement said.

The student body has also urged all zonal and its federating units to organise commemorative programmes and hoist the Naga National Flag in their respective offices as part of the 79th commemoration of the Naga Independence Day celebration.
